I have been working with SharePoint for a long time and with webparts it has always confused me why there is a select and deselect checkbox option for a webpart. I am sure a number of people can tell me the uses for it but I dont really like it displayed on a web part page that standard users can see. Finally I have worked out how to remove this checkbox from the display on a page.
It can be done either from a custom CSS file or from the Master Page with the following one liner:
Master Page: ms-WPHeaderTdSelection { display: none; }
CSS File: .ms-WPHeaderTdSelection { display: none; }
Save and control F5 for immediate results.
And there's no other way? Sadly, I do not have access to farm-level CSS or master pages. Do you know of any other approaches?
